Description

Manor Farmhouse and the attached dwelling is a country house that has been converted into a farmhouse. It dates from the early 18th century, with alterations made to the entrance front in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, as well as further modifications in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of coursed and squared rubble, with some areas rendered. It features rusticated alternating quoins, a moulded stone eaves cornice, a parapet with coping, coped verges, end rendered stacks, and a double-Roman tile roof with a double span and three box dormers.

The structure has two storeys and an attic, presenting a symmetrical garden front with six bays. The windows are 8-pane sash windows set in moulded stone architraves, except for the second window from the left on the ground floor, which has been altered to include three-quarter glazed French windows. The central entrance consists of a three-quarter glazed front door within a shallow architrave, topped by a hollow semi-circular stone hood supported by cut stone brackets, and features a later cartouche.

Flanking the main house are symmetrical service wings; the left side originally housed stables but is now a garage, while the right side was a dairy that has been significantly altered but still complements the overall design. Adjacent to the former stables is a tetrastyle stone portico with Roman Doric columns and a triangular pediment, which serves as the entrance. The remodelled entrance front has a configuration of two bays, one bay, and two bays, with sash windows that have glazing bars. The late 19th-century porch is two storeys high, and the flanking wings feature two-light moulded stone-mullioned windows. The interior of Manor Farmhouse is reported to have interesting features, including a staircase and panelling.
