Description
The Methodist Church in Stratton-on-the-Fosse is a mid to late 19th-century building. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble, featuring contrasting quarry-faced stone banding and dressings, with slate roofs and coped verges topped with finials. The church has an arcaded west bell-turret that includes a spirelet. The architectural style is Neo-Early English, with a four-bay buttressed nave that has 2-light windows and a shallow bow at the west end with lancet windows. There is a gabled porch with a shafted outer door opening, and the lower apsidal chancel is flanked by chapels that also feature lancets and 2-light windows, including a 2-light window at the west end. Inside, there is simple stained glass. The church is prominently positioned by the roadside.
