Description

This is a milepost located on the roadside in Stratton-on-the-Fosse, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and has a V-shaped design with a canted top. The raised lettering indicates distances to Cheltenham (49 miles), Shepton Mallet (5 miles), and Bath (12 miles). This milepost is part of the Shepton Mallet Turnpike Trust.
