ST4412 MERRIOTT CP CHURCH STREET (North side)

9/107 Outbuilding, about 5 metres east of the King's Head Inn

GV II Probably the former stables to the inn. C18, remodelled in C19. Ham stone coursed rubble, but street gable of near-ashlar; triple-roll clay tiled roof between stepped coped gables; one brick chimney stack. Two storeys, 4-bay west elevation. Doorways to ground floor bays 2 and 4, the latter a stable door. A variety of windows to first floor: casement windows bays 1 and 4, 16-pane sash window upper bay 2; pair of boarded doors to upper bay 3 approached by stone stairs with wrought-iron handrail; projecting brick extension to bay 1. Interior not seen.
