Description

This is a late 18th-century detached cottage on Church Street in Merrriott. It is constructed of roughly cut and squared ham stone to the front, with rubble to the sides and rear. The roof is thatched, with stepped coped gables and brick chimney stacks. The cottage is two storeys high and has three bays. It features horizontal-bar casement windows with three lights; the ground floor windows have stone lintols, while those on the first floor have timber lintols. A part-glazed boarded door is located in the lower bay of the second bay, beneath a stone lintel. An outshut is attached to the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
