Description

Lumbards is a house in a row, dated 1754. It is constructed from roughly cut and squared ham stone with ashlar dressings, featuring a triple-angle clay tiled roof and plain gables. The house has brick chimney stacks at both ends and in between. It stands two storeys high with four bays. The first floor has windows that are 3-light horizontal-bar casements, while the ground floor features 3-light hollow-chamfer mullioned windows in chamfered recesses with labels on bays 1, 3, and 4. Bay 2 has a 2-light casement with a timber lintel. Between bays 3 and 4, there is a 6-panel door in a heavy frame, also under a timber lintel, with a square datestone above inscribed 'W/TM/1754'. The interior has not been seen. Attached to the south gable is No 41.
