Description
Zephyrine Cottage is a semi-detached cottage dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It features a facade made of cut and squared Ham stone with ashlar dressings, while the sides and rear are constructed from coursed rubble. The roof is bitumenised with double Roman clay tiles and has plain gables, along with brick chimney stacks at each end. The cottage is two storeys high and has two bays. The first bay includes three-light plain headed mullioned windows on both floors, with iron-traded opening lights. The second bay, which seems to be an extension or rebuild, has a three-light horizontal-bar casement window above. There are 20th-century timber garage doors below that resemble shutters fitted to all windows. Between the bays, there is a 20th-century door in a plain opening. A simple casement light is present in the west gable. The interior has not been seen. The cottage is included primarily for its group value, situated on an important corner of the village, and is attached to No 43.
