Description
This building is an outbuilding located approximately 20 metres southeast of the White Hart Hotel, originally serving as stables and now used as a store. It dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century and is constructed of coursed and squared limestone rubble with ashlar dressings, topped with a slate roof. The building is single storey with a loft and features a symmetrical front. This includes a central elliptical-arched carriage entrance with a key and imposts, flanked by flat-headed doorways. There are also outer 2-light flat-faced stone-mullioned windows with circular ashlar pitching holes above. The doors are boarded, and the gables are coped, with the left-hand gable featuring a moulded finial base. The right-hand gable has a blocked window and a lunette above it. Inside, there are timber partitions and a collar truss roof, making it a good and complete example of an inn stable from its period.
