Description
No. 18 The Green is a house dating from the 17th century, with later alterations including a rear extension and a refronting in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed, squared limestone rubble with ashlar dressings. It features an ashlar stack on the right gable and a brick lateral stack at the rear, topped by a slate roof that is gabled and half-hipped. The house has a single-depth, two-room plan, originally with a heated room on the right, and includes an 18th-century rear right-hand range. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and has a three-window range. The double-fronted façade includes a small ashlar porch leading to a six-panel door, where the top pair of panels are glazed. The ground floor has 8/8-pane sash windows, while the first floor has 4/8-pane sashes. The coped gable features a small attic window, and the gabled rear range has a half-hipped end where it meets the front ridge. The interior has not been inspected.
