Description
The stable, outbuildings, and attached wall to the rear (east) of Oak Lodge date from the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed of limestone rubble with freestone quoins and dressings, topped with a double-Roman tile roof, and feature rectangular plans.
The exterior is single storey with a hayloft, and there is one window for each block. The gable end of the stable range facing Bristol Road has a planked door leading to the hay loft, which is adorned with an ashlar lintel and quoins on the first floor. The front of the building, which faces Oak Lodge to the west, includes a 6/6-pane horned sash window with a similar architrave to the left, a wide segmental carriage arch with double planked doors in the center, and a wide flat-arched opening to the right that is likely a 20th-century addition. To the right, a lower range features a stable door flanked by similar windows, all within similar architraves.
The interior has not been inspected. A subsidiary feature includes a rubblestone wall with freestone coping, approximately 2 meters high and 3 meters long, extending westward from the left-hand corner of the stable. The building is situated in a prominent position close to Oak Lodge.
