Description

Nos. 15 and 17 are two cottages located on Vicarage Road, dating from the 18th century. They feature painted render over cob and rubblestone, with a half-hipped thatched roof and a brick stack at the center ridge. Each cottage has a one-unit plan, with No. 15 having a two-storey rear wing and No. 17 featuring a rear outshut. Both cottages are two storeys high and have a single-window range. The outer ends have 20th-century doors, and the windows are 2- and 3-light casements, with a first-floor window in No. 15 located in a half dormer. No. 17 includes a 20th-century semi-conical thatched porch. On the left return facing Church Street, there is a 2-light casement window with two small single lights on the ground floor. The interiors have not been inspected.

Additionally, there are subsidiary features including a rubblestone wall approximately 1 meter high, which is attached to the left of No. 15 and curves forward to enclose the front gardens. An early 19th-century iron gate with fleur-de-lys heads is connected to the long and short railings at the rear wing in Church Street, where a rubblestone wall rises to about 2 meters, extends for approximately 15 meters, and connects to a workshop of No. 13 Church Street.
