Description
Pilgrim Corner is a cottage that dates from the 16th or 17th century. It features painted render over cob or rubblestone and has a thatched roof that continues with No. 22. The building has a rubblestone front lateral stack and a brick stack at the right gable end. It was likely originally two cottages, with the left side having a one-unit plan and the right side a three-unit plan. The cottage is two storeys high and has a five-window range.
To the right of the projecting stack, which is rendered below the eaves, there are 19th or 20th century two and three-light casement windows on both floors. There are steps leading up to a door located to the left of the stack, which has two 19th century three-light casements above it, with the left one set in a 17th century frame. The eaves line steps down to the left over a small 19th century two-light window. On the far left of the ground floor, there is a 20th century door with two 20th century windows to its right. A Victorian postbox is inset into the front wall to the right of the projecting stack.
Inside, there is one stop-chamfered beam on the ground floor to the right and a spiral stair on the rear lateral wall. The main rafters are boxed on the first floor.
