3/8 Stone gatepiers and stone stile on south side of road about 50 metres east of Haselbury Old Bridge

GV II

Stone gateway and stile. Probably early C19. Ham stone ashlar. Gate piers about 400mm square at base, tapering to 300m square, with hollow chamfer at top, then rounded square, not ball, finials: matching pier to east, abutting a rubble wall; between this pier and the gatepost a stone slab about 1 metre square, 120mm thick, with a single stone step abutting on the north side and 2 steps on south side: C20 metal farm gate. Unusual survival of such a feature in this area.
