Description
The gate piers at the entrance to the village date from the late 18th century and are constructed of ashlar stone. There are inner and outer pairs of gate piers. The inner pair is square in section and stands approximately 4 metres high, featuring rusticated masonry with a projecting band below a plain entablature adorned with paterae. They have stepped caps topped with ball finials. The outer piers are about 3 metres high, also made of rusticated masonry, with a projecting band and shallow pyramidal caps. There are no gates present.
