Description
The barn located to the north of East View Farmhouse dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick in English bond and has a 20th-century pantile roof. The barn features seven bays, with the east gable facing the street. There are three narrow ventilators at the bottom, and above them, a diamond pattern of ventilators is set within a square recess, flanked by an hour-glass ventilator pattern. High opposing cart entrances, with cambered brick arches, are located in the center of the north and south sides, both fitted with 20th-century doors. The hour-glass pattern of ventilators is repeated in these areas. The barn has a hipped roof and is balanced on the south side of the farmhouse by a similar building, which may have been a cow house with a granary above.
