Description

Sundial located in the gardens on the west side of Goldsborough Hall, dating from the 19th century and created by C. W. Dixey of London. It is made of stone and bronze, featuring a circular base and a three-sided shaft, with an overall height of approximately 1.2 metres. The shaft is elaborately decorated with deeply-carved designs that include C-scrolls, acanthus leaves, and strap-work. The sundial plate bears the inscription: 'C. W. Dixey London'. This sundial is noted in the publication "Goldsborough Hall, Yorkshire" in Country Life, dated October 15th, 1904, page 559.
