Description
The Bay Horse Inn is an inn dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone and features a pantile roof with three eaves courses of stone. The building has two storeys and three bays, with a continuous outshut at the rear. Notable architectural details include quoins, a 20th-century plank door with a plain lintel, and sash windows with 20 and 16 panes set in flush wood architraves throughout. The windows have incised lintels and stone sills, while the roof is adorned with ashlar coping and shaped kneelers. The end stacks are rendered. To the right, there is a single-storey extension that was formerly an animal shed, and to the left, a two-storey, three-bay addition that is not of special interest. There are also 20th-century single-storey extensions at the rear.
