Description
The Limes is a house built in the mid-18th century, constructed from coursed limestone with a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and three bays, featuring slightly projecting quoins. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door topped by a 20th-century fanlight, all set under a keyed flat arch. The windows are sash style, with configurations of 16, 12, and 9 panes, framed in flush wood architraves that include keystones, voussoirs, and stone sills. There are brick stacks at each end of the building. Inside, the front room on the right retains an original Adam-style fireplace, flanked by cupboards and fitted with shutters. An early 20th-century photograph of the building shows a rectangular overlight.
