Description
These are gate piers, likely dating from 1771, the same time as the nearby Old Hall Farmhouse. They are constructed from ashlar magnesian limestone. The piers are simple and square, with deep recesses to accommodate replacement wooden gate posts. The piers are topped with a concave base to large ball finials. The 20th-century iron gates are not considered to be of particular architectural interest. The piers are included on the heritage register for their contribution to the wider group value of the farm complex.
