Description
Rotherwood is a house with an early 19th-century facade that likely covers a structure from the 18th century. It features a deeply-coursed dressed limestone exterior and a Welsh slate roof. The building is two stories high and has three bays. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door with an overlight that has glazing bars, all set within an ashlar surround that includes plinth blocks. The flanking bays contain 16-pane sash windows with projecting stone sills, set beneath lintels that are tooled to resemble voussoirs. The first-floor windows are similar, although the first and third bays have 20th-century casements with glazing bars. The roof is adorned with shaped kneelers and ashlar gable copings, while the end stacks are rebuilt in brick.
