Description
This barn, located 2 metres southeast of Manor Farmhouse, is possibly from the 15th century. It is constructed from local stone that has been cut and squared, and it features mostly double Roman clay tiles on the roof, with some areas using triple roll tiles. The porch roof is hipped and covered with clay pantiles. The barn consists of five bays running north to south, with projecting porches on the east and west sides of the central bay. It has corner and bay buttresses with offsets and ventilation slits between them. The tall boarded doors include a wicket door leading to the porch. Inside, two of the four roof trusses are raised crucks, with collars that have curved braces. The rafters are notched onto the purlins and there are three tiers of curved windbracing, with the middle tier staggered. There is also a smaller cruck in the east porch.
