Description

The barn, likely dating from the early 18th century, is constructed of stone rubble and has a steeply pitched roof covered with Roman tile and asbestos. It is four bays wide. Originally, there were double doors on the south side, although the north-facing doors are now blocked. The interior retains an intact four-bay roof with three tie-beam trusses, featuring struts to the principals, collars, and two tiers of tenoned purlins. Common-rafter couples are also intact. Two bays have three purlins resting on butt pieces, supported by queen posts. The west wall retains several blocked ventilation or pigeon holes. Later outshuts have been added to the north, south, and west sides, and the north cart entrance is blocked with concrete.
