Description

The War Memorial, located on Trenchard Road in Stanton Fitzwarren, was built around 1919 in the Perpendicular style. It features three steps leading up to a moulded plinth. The memorial has a tall chamfered shaft topped with a crocketted canopy that includes four canopied niches, each supported by angel busts holding shields. The niches are carved with a Crucifix to the east, St George to the south, St Michael to the west, and a female figure representing Ecclesia with a cross to the north. At the top, there is a metal cross with a metal flag that has the date 1915 perforated onto it.
