Description
The Thornbury War Memorial, erected in 1919, is constructed of sandstone. It features a calvary cross with a canopy. The west face displays a carved figure of Christ, while the east face has a seated figure of the Virgin and Child. The memorial has a tapered octagonal column with decorative stops, which stands on a square plinth and a four-step base. On the west face of the plinth, there is a carved wreath surrounding an inscription that reads: IN/ MEMORIAM/ 1914-1919.
