Description
Fairfield House, located on Thornbury Castle Street, is a mid to late 18th century building. It has a rendered exterior and a modern tiled roof that is hidden behind a parapet. The house features a dentilled cornice and consists of two storeys with attics that include four dormers. There are four windows, which are glazing bar sashes with plain architraves; the furthest right window is tripartite. The entrance is marked by a one-storey panelled porch made of ashlar stone. To the right, there is a 19th-century bay window. Inside, the house boasts fine moulded plasterwork throughout and an elaborate cast iron baluster staircase. The front boundary wall is made of coursed, squared rubble, topped with cast iron railings that have acorn finials.
