Description

This is an outbuilding, now used as a garage, located about 20 metres north-east of the Dower House, with an attached gateway towards the west corner. It dates from the 17th or 18th century and is constructed from coursed ham stone rubble with ashlar dressings. The front section features a roof covered with double Roman clay tiles, while the rear is finished with Welsh slates. The south gable has stepped coped detailing and weathervane finials. Below this gable are garage doors, and above them is a 2-light hollow-chamfer mullioned window with a label. There are additional mullioned windows on the sides. Although the interior was not seen, there is a return wall against the west wall towards the north, which likely has been relocated. This wall features a gateway with ashlar piers topped with cornice caps and step and ball finials, along with wrought-iron gates that have diagonal braces.
