Description
Number 1 Bullhouse is an outbuilding, possibly originally a dovecote, that has been converted into a house and garage. It dates from the 17th century or early 18th century and has undergone alterations. The structure is built of coursed, squared rubble and features a Welsh slate roof. It is two storeys high, with an entrance on the left that has a cambered head. The window openings have been altered and may have originally been bird holes. On the first floor, there are two 2-light, double-chamfered windows. To the right, there is a blocked doorway at an intermediate level and a part-blocked doorway accessed by a stone stair. The right section of the building slightly projects forward and has a large garage door that has been inserted. The gable copings are hollow-chamfered and sit on moulded kneelers, with apex finials at the top. There is a central ashlar stack. At the rear, there is a part-blocked entrance to the right with a deep lintel and a central brick addition. A lean-to addition on the left gable is not of special interest. On the first floor of the right gable, there is one 3-light, double-chamfered window.
