Description
Number 2 Bullhouse is a house that is part of a hall group, dated 1676, with the front rebuilt in the late 19th century or early 20th century. It is constructed of coursed, squared dressed stone, with coursed stone at the rear, and has a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with quoins on the right side.
The central doorway features a Tudor arch and a moulded surround, with an inscribed lintel that reads: "A 29 1676". Above the lintel is a hoodmould. To the left of the doorway is a slender blocked doorway. The windows are 4-pane sash types, and there are two ashlar stacks with moulded cornices.
At the rear, there are double-chamfered windows, with a cross-window on each floor to the left. To the right, there is a multiple-light window with at least five lights, partially obscured by a later lean-to addition, along with a further two lights, all beneath a hoodmould. The first floor features a similar window with a configuration of four + two + four lights separated by king mullions, also under a hoodmould, though some lights are blocked. The interior has not been inspected.
