Description
Ecklands Cottage is a 17th-century cottage situated on Liley Lane, Penistone. The cottage is rendered with a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and three bays. Quoins are visible. The central doorway has a plain surround, likely added later. Double-chamfered windows are present on each side, with the mullions having been removed; these were probably originally three-light windows. A hoodmould is present, featuring decorative stops on the left side, which are cut off above the door and to the right. A 20th-century stone extension to the right is not of particular interest. Three two-light windows, also with removed mullions, are located on the first floor, with 20th-century casements. Hollow-chamfered gable copings are present on moulded kneelers. Gable stacks are visible, with brick on the right side.
