Description
Bullhouse Lodge is a house dated 1687, with a late 18th-century addition and 20th-century alterations and restoration. It was built for the Rich family and features coursed squared rubble with a renewed stone slate roof. The house is two storeys high and has five bays, with quoins at the corners.
The three left bays are from the original construction, featuring a part-blocked doorway to the right with a slightly cambered lintel inscribed: "AG : y 16 1687". There are two 2-light double-chamfered windows on each floor to the left, with renewed mullions, and a single light window above the doorway. The right part of the elevation is from the late 18th century, including a 20th-century doorway with a single light window above it, and a restored 2-light flat-faced mullion window on each floor to the right. The gable copings are on moulded kneelers, with the left side being hollow-chamfered and the right side plain. There are rendered stacks, and the rear features 20th-century additions and restoration.
