Description
This is a former hall, now divided into two dwellings. The core of the building dates to the 17th century, with substantial rebuilding occurring in the late 18th or early 19th century. A further eastern section, known as Stone Roof, was altered in the 20th century. The building is constructed of coursed, squared stone with a stone slate roof. It has a roughly L-shaped plan, originally comprising three rooms. The two dwellings are now separate, linked only by an arched lintel marking the former screens passage. This lintel is inscribed with "J.W. 1652".
The western part of the building features quoins. It has a single-light window centrally located on the ground floor, with three-light, flat-faced mullion windows to the left and right on both floors; the ground-floor windows have had one mullion removed. The right gable has hollow-chamfered copings, sitting on moulded kneelers, and an ashlar gable stack, while the left has a brick gable stack. Double-chamfered windows remain on the rear elevation. A blocked double-chamfered, two-light window is visible on the first floor of the right return. The eastern section, Stone Roof, has 20th-century windows facing east. The right gable features a three-light window on the ground floor and a two-light window on the first floor, both double-chamfered, as well as a small, chamfered ground-floor light. The left gable has a two-light, double-chamfered window with a hoodmould. The interior has not been inspected.
