Description
The Church of St. Saviour is a church built in 1905, although it remains unfinished. It was designed by C. Hodgson Fowler and features a combination of ashlar and red brick on the west wall, with a Welsh slate roof and lead roofs over the aisles. The church has a 4-bay nave with lean-to aisles and a 3-bay chancel, which includes a north vestry. The divisions between the bays are marked by reducing buttresses, with angle buttresses at the corners. The windows include 3-light aisle windows and an east window, as well as 2-light chancel windows, all featuring Decorated tracery. The west window is a 3-light design with Perpendicular tracery. There is a small porch at the west end and a wooden, louvered bellcote with a slate roof on the west gable.
Inside, the church has 4-bay arcades supported by octagonal piers. The nave and chancel are topped with a wagon roof that features diamond ribbing and carved bosses.
