Description

This is a weaver’s house dating from the early to mid-19th century, located on Ingbirchworth Road in Thurlstone. It is constructed of deeply-coursed squared stone with a stone slate roof. The house is three storeys high and has two bays. A central doorway is set within a quoined surround. On each floor, a single-light window is positioned to the left, and a two-light window with flat-faced mullions appears to the right. Late 20th-century casements fill the window openings. At the rear, a continuous nine-light window illuminates the second floor. The remains of blocked taking-in doors are visible on the first and second floors of the left return, along with the vestiges of a stone staircase leading to the second floor.
