Description

Two houses, dating back to the 17th century with 19th-century alterations and 20th-century restoration. They are constructed of coursed squared stone with a stone slate roof, partially covered in bitumen. The building has a 7-cell plan with a cross wing projecting at the rear. The left, gabled wing features a restored 5-light double-chamfered window on the ground floor, with a hoodmould, and a similar 4-light window on the first floor. An arched single light is found in the apex. There are hollow-chamfered gable copings with moulded kneelers and shaped finials. The central bay has flat-faced mullion windows, a 4-light window on the ground floor and a 10-light window on the first floor. The right bay includes 19th-century windows. Three ashlar chimney stacks are present. At the rear, an arched entrance leads to the centre bay. The cross wing has double-chamfered windows including a 3-light window and a blocked and altered cross-window to the ground floor, a 3-light window on the first floor, and a cross-window in the gable apex. Inside, the cross wing contains a large arched fireplace with an adjoining opening that appears to have been altered. A chamfered fireplace is found in the room above.
