Description
Lamb Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse located on Farm Street, mostly dating from the 17th century and modified over time. It features ham stone ashlar on a rubble plinth and has a Welsh slate roof with stepped coped gables and brick chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high and has five bays.
In bay 1, there are 3-light hollow-chamfer mullioned windows on both levels, with the upper window set into a gable. Bay 2 contains a 20th-century mullioned window below and a casement above, both under old labels, with the upper window also set into a gable. Bays 3 and 4 have 20th-century mullioned windows, and there is an additional window to the right of bay 4. Bay 5 features a 3-light ovolo-mould window with a label on the ground floor and no window above. There is a chamfered cambered-arched doorway with a 20th-century door in lower bay 3.
The west gable includes two 2-light ovolo-mould mullioned windows with labels, as well as a small lean-to with a slate roof. A flight of steps with a simple wrought-iron handrail is located against the east gable. The interior has not been seen. About one metre northwest of the doorway, there is a cast iron pump, missing its handle, made by Petter and Edgar of Yeovil, along with a stone bowl in front of it.
