Description

Winter's Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse located on Queen Street. It has origins dating back to the late 17th century but was reshaped in the early 20th century. The building is constructed from ham stone ashlar and coursed rubble, topped with a triple-roll clay tiled roof featuring plain gables and brick chimney stacks.

The farmhouse is two storeys high and consists of five bays. On the upper floor, there are three-light horizontal bar casements, while the lower floor features matching two-light windows, all set under timber lintels. The first bay on the lower floor includes a four-light square bay window with a plain and scallop-tiled lean-to roof. In the second bay, there is a late 19th-century door set in a recess with a plain beaded surround.

At the rear, there is at least one mullioned window. Attached to the south gable is a lower single-bay unit that has a three-light hollow-chamfer mullioned window with unworked top mitres and a square label, as well as an old pattern three-light casement window above it. On the north gable, there is a single-storey building featuring an 18th-century door at the rear, with part of the gable made of brick and a loading ramp leading to this gable. The interior has not been seen.
