Description
The Smith monument is a chest tomb located about 9 metres south of the south porch of the Church of St Andrew in Brympton d'Evercy. It dates from the 17th or 18th century and is made of Ham stone. The base is buried, featuring plain sides and cavetto-mould coving leading to a heavy flat top. An inscription on the north side commemorates John Smith, who died in 1775, and his wife Temperance, who died in 1796. The earlier inscription is now lost.
