Description

The Smith monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, 4 metres south of the south porch of the Church of St. James in Tytherington. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of freestone. The tomb features a moulded slab, corner balusters, and plain ends. There is a cartouche on one side that includes text, and it has a moulded base. The earliest legible date on the monument is 1835.
