Description

Boyt's Farmhouse is a house with origins dating back to the late 16th century and further developments in the 17th century. It is constructed of rubble with double Roman tile roofs and has an L-plan layout featuring a through passage. The building stands two storeys high with an attic and has four windows, showcasing various mullioned and transmullioned casements, many of which are 20th-century replicas.

The south front is highlighted by a lower gabled porch that is two storeys and has an attic. This porch features a central studded door set in a four-centered arch chamfered frame with diagonal stops, along with three-light casements above, single attic lights, and ball finials. To the right, a 2½ storey wing protrudes, supported by a heavy buttress and featuring four- and five-light windows, along with a 20th-century raking dormer. To the left of the porch, there are four-light windows on both the ground and first floors, with a three-light window above.

The rear elevation, which is also 2½ storeys, has three windows, primarily four-light cross windows. A three-light mullioned window has replaced the former central passage door, with a larger similar window located above. Both gabled end elevations display similar window arrangements. Inside, the parlour features an ogee-moulded framed ceiling and reset panelling.
