Description
The Grange is a house dating from the 17th century, with significant refacing and extension in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of rubble with freestone dressings and ashlar, topped by an asbestos slate roof. The building is in an L-plan and has two storeys and an attic. The south elevation features four windows, all of which are 19th-century 2- and 3-light casements. There is an off-centre right gabled porch with a pointed door, a shield above, and a bargeboard with a finial, similar to the design on each gable. The rear elevation also has two storeys and an attic, with three windows that match the front, but the attic windows are 2-light casements with hollow moulded mullions and hoodmoulds. Additionally, there is a two-storey gabled ashlar porch with a four-centered arch door, and a 2-light casement above, both under hoodmoulds, featuring a quatrefoil in the coped gable with finials.
