Description

A pair of semi-detached cottages dating from the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed of red sandstone rubble, likely originally rendered, with brick dressings. The roof is hipped and covered in slate, with overhanging eaves supported by decorative brackets. A central brick stack rises through the roof. The cottages have two storeys and two bays, with all windows featuring Gibbs surrounds in brick, containing segmental-headed 2-light casements with multiple panes. A 20th-century half-glazed door is located on the left-hand side (Vellow Cottage), and a four-panel door with chamfered ribs, similar to those found at Hazeldene, is on the right-hand side.
