Description
Police Cottages are a pair of cottages built in the early 19th century. They are constructed from red sandstone random rubble masonry and feature quoins, a slate roof with decorative ridge tiles, and brick stacks on the left and right. The cottages are two stories high with irregularly placed windows. On the first floor, there is a 16-pane sash window to the left, along with a 4-pane and a 12-pane sash window. The ground floor has two 16-pane sash windows positioned to the right of their respective entrances, all of which are topped with rusticated voussoirs. The doors are located to the left of the ground floor windows and are panelled in a 3x3 configuration, with square-headed three-light openings above them. The south side features a slate-hung gable end adorned with decorative pierced barge boards.
