Description
Mildens is a house with a shopfront that dates from the late 18th century. It was likely extended by one bay to the left in the mid-19th century, with an early 20th-century projection for the shop. The building features a roughcast facade and red sandstone random rubble returns, with a pilaster quoin strip on the right side. The roof is hipped and covered with double Roman tiles, topped with terracotta finials, and there are brick stacks at the rear. The structure has two storeys and consists of one bay on the left and three bays on the right. It includes sash windows with glazing bars, and a round-headed doorway with a moulded surround located in the second bay from the right, which has a fanlight without tracery above a six-panel door. There is also a projecting lean-to shop with a corrugated iron roof, although the outer bay on the right is not included in this description.
