Description

This stable and coach house, located adjacent to the rear of Springfield, dates from the early 19th century. It is built from coursed rubble and features a hipped slate roof in a Tudoresque style. The structure is two storeys high and consists of two bays, each with two-light stone mullioned windows. Each window light has a 4-centred head and a 21-pane casement, along with stopped labels. There are two door openings: to the left, a plank door set in a chamfered and dressed stone surround with a 4-centred head; to the right, a broad segmental-headed carriageway with paired plank doors in a dressed stone surround. An external rubble staircase is located on the right return. This building is included primarily for its group value.
