Description
The monument to Edward Symes is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, 10 metres south of the south chapel of the Church of St Michael. It dates from 1781 and is made of dressed stone. The tomb features a moulded plinth, corner pilasters with edge-roll moulding, and a central pilaster on the north and south sides of the oblong chest. Inscriptions are found on inset panels on the south side, and it has a plain slab top. Edward Symes served as the parish surgeon.
