Description

The Symes monument is an early 18th-century chest tomb located about one metre east of the south transept of the Church of St Martin in North Perrott. It is made of Ham stone and features a moulded plinth. Each face of the tomb has an open fielded panel, flanked by fluted pilasters. The shallow hipped top has moulded coving and rounded leading edges. This monument commemorates Elizabeth Symes, who died in 1729, along with others.
