Description
Cross Tree Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble made from Ham stone and features a double Roman clay tiled roof with stepped coped gables. There are signs of raised flank walls that suggest it may have originally had a thatched roof. The cottage has brick chimney stacks at both ends and stands two storeys high with three bays. The windows are leaded casements set under timber lintels, with iron-framed opening lights; the outer bays have three-light windows while the centre bay on the first floor has a two-light window. Bay two features a projecting 20th-century plain gabled porch with a part-glazed boarded door, which is accessed by three steps. The interior has not been seen. This building is included in the listing primarily for its group value.
