Description

Teacher's Cottage is a detached cottage, likely built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from roughly cut and squared Ham stone with ashlar dressings, topped with plain clay tiles and bands of scalloped tiles between stepped coped gables. A brick chimney stack is located on the south gable. The cottage has two storeys and consists of two bays. It features hollow-chamfered mullioned windows with chamfered surrounds, which have inserted horizontal-bar casements. The windows are predominantly 2-light, except for the ground floor bay 2, which is 3-light, and the lower windows have labels. The entrance is located in the north gable and includes an ovolo-and-ogee moulded elliptical-arched doorway, which is set under a square label and has incised spandrils. There is a small extension on the north-east corner with a monopitch roof, featuring a matching 2-light mullioned window without a label. Additionally, there is a lean-to extension at the rear. The interior has not been seen.
