Description

ST40NE NORTH PERROTT CP NORTH PERROTT VILLAGE

6/179 No 12 (The Old Forge)

GV II

Cottage at end of row. C17, modified. Ham stone roughly cut and squared, ashlar dressings; triple-angle clay tiled roof between stepped coped gabled, with signs of raised flank walling suggesting former thatch; brick end chimney stacks. Two storeys, 2 bays. To ground floor, hollow-chamfer mullioned windows, to bay 1 a 2-light in chamfered recess, to bay 2 a 3-light in wave-mould recess, both with labels; single-light small-pane casement added to left of bay 1, and small blocked 2-section stairlight right of bay 2; first floor, 2- and 3-light horizontal-bar casement windows under timber lintels. Between bays a boarded door on heavy frame, up 3 steps, with label over. Door apparently no longer in use, as a C20 doorway has been cut into the otherwise plain north gable. Interior not seen.
