Description
Chase Water is a cottage that likely dates from the 17th century. It is built from local lias stone that has been cut and squared, with Ham stone dressings, and features a thatched roof with a stepped coped west gable and a plain east gable. The cottage has brick chimney stacks and is a single storey with an attic, comprising four bays.
The windows are hollow chamfer mullioned with square heads and labels, containing rectangular leaded panes arranged in groups of 3, 4, 1, and 4 lights. Between the third and fourth bays, there is a boarded door set in a heavy frame with a timber lintel. Additionally, there are two small leaded casements integrated into the thatch, with a 2-light window over bay 2 and a 3-light window over bay 4. A lean-to building is attached to the south side. The west gable features a circular and a rectangular leaded casement, both likely from the early 20th century. The interior has not been seen.
